5 Ways the Energy of Your Home and Workspace Affect Your Success
Introduction:
When you’re on a path of personal and professional growth you are probably looking for ways to improve and be the best version of you that you can be.
What you may not realize is that you have one of the best transformational tools right at your fingertips. It’s your home.
Even though I have been doing this work for many years, I am frequently in awe of the amazing transformations that occur when you work with the energy of your environment so your home can support you with whatever change you are going through or want to create in your life.
What kinds of situations have transformed for people by working with the energy of their home? Here are just a few examples:
Incredible career transformations.
Dramatic increases in business, when everything seemed to be stalled.
Homes that had been on the market for a long time, with no offers, quickly sell.
Unhappy relationships dramatically improve.
Incredible new opportunities arise, that previously seemed impossible.
Difficult situations that had been going on for months, are quickly and positively resolved.
Attracting exactly the right people at the right time to support you.
This works because you are so closely connected to your home. Your energy and the energy in your home (and workspace) are connected.
So, when you make a change to the energy in your home, change will happen within you and in your life. And if you want something to change in your life, you can work with the energy in your home to bring about that change.
All it takes is learning how to ‘read’ the energy in your home to understand where and how your home is supporting you (or not) and what simple changes you can make to improve the energy.
Today, those who want to be successful are constantly searching for that elusive edge—something that unlocks the door to success and well-being.
The answer might just be the energy within your own work and living spaces. Welcome to the world of Feng Shui, where transforming your environment can dramatically improve your professional and personal fulfillment.
To give you an idea, notice the difference in the energy of this room before and after:
When you are so used to seeing something everyday you no longer even register how it may be affecting you. When you have a room like this, it may be tempting to just close off the room so you don’t see it - but it still affects you energetically, whether you close the door or not.
Every element of your workspace and home should be a reflection of your unique path to success and happiness. Customizing your space is not just an act of decoration—it’s an investment in your professional and personal development. It’s about crafting an environment that mirrors the greater success you want to achieve.
This isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s a profound journey into understanding and mastering the energies that make up the spaces where we spend the most time. As you begin this transformative process, know that each choice you make is a powerful declaration of your ambitions and the heights you want to reach.
Different Occupants - Same Problems
I worked for several years with realtors, and they all had stories of ‘problem’ homes where different occupants experienced the same challenges. For example, a home where everyone who lived there ended up having relationship problems, perhaps even getting divorced. Or homes where everyone who lived there experienced financial difficulties, when they hadn’t before.
When I showed them how to look at these homes from the perspective of energy, at how every part of a person’s life is reflected in their home, it was then easy for them to see how and why this was happening – and more importantly, how these issues could be resolved.
In these cases, it’s all about the energy of the areas that relate to relationships or prosperity. Certain house layouts cause the home to have “missing areas” when it comes to these important aspects of life. This means that there is an energetic void, which will cause challenges for the home’s occupants.
The Power of Letting Go
When someone tells me they suddenly feel the urge to declutter and organize, I know that some major change is about to happen for them. So often I’ve found that a client’s business or career really starts to take off in amazing ways when they declutter and release any items that they no longer need, use, want or love.
It's often one of the first things I suggest when I start to work with a client, because it means they start to see changes right away.
What's Being Put off or Ignored?
When something goes wrong in a person’s home (something breaks or is in urgent need of attention) I know that’s a signal that there’s something to be addressed in their life that perhaps they’d been putting off or ignoring.
This has happened to me. For example, several years ago we discovered a leak in the bathroom shower. The shower had to be taken apart, and so we decided to remodel the entire bathroom. Soon after that, my husband was (unexpectedly) offered a new job and we moved - which was perfect because he had been very unhappy in his job for quite a while.
Interestingly, we’ve just had a similar event happen with our bathroom in our current house and are undergoing a bathroom remodel right now. I’m very interested to see what will happen as a result of this!
What You Can Do Now
If you want to do something right now in your home that will start the process of positive energy change – here it is: Find 27 things (or more) in your home that you can let go of. It doesn’t matter if you give them away, donate them, or throw them away. The important thing is to let them go – you are releasing unwanted and unsupportive energy, which makes room for something better.
The Energy of Your Workspace
If you are in any doubt about the power of working with the energy of your home or workspace, I don’t blame you. I’ve worked with many people who were skeptical. Let me just share one example with you - it’s a good one:
C.B. is a very successful interior designer. She also has a store, selling a few items of furniture and exclusive decorative items. It is a beautiful store, but it has never made money.
People come to look, but quickly leave again. They are lucky if they sell one or two items in a week. She asked if I would look at the store. I did and I made some recommendations - simply to move things around into different locations, to make the store seem friendlier, because it felt a little intimidating to me - like people were too scared to touch things.
Here’s the message I received from her 2 weeks later:
"Within a couple of weeks we have had several designers come in the shop – they have emptied our store buying well over 150 items – that’s thousands of dollars!!!"
As well as being aware of the energy of your home, it is also important to be aware of the energy of your workspace. Even if clients don’t come to you, the energy there is just as important as it is in this example. What energy are you transmitting when it comes to your business (or career)?
The way to start is to begin paying more attention to your home.
Do you need to declutter?
Do you have items you no longer need, use or want?
Is there an area or room that you avoid because it doesn’t feel good?
Do you have items that are broken and need to be repaired?
Do you have items that have unhappy memories or associations for you?
I know it can seem overwhelming, or time consuming, but the one thing I love to do is keep things as simple as possible.
If you would like to learn more about your home and how to read/improve the energy there so it supports you, I have created a Feng Shui Success Online Course which tells you everything you need to know, and guides you step-by-step through your home, showing you how and where to make simple changes that will make a dramatic difference.
You can learn more about it here.
Could you just buy a Feng Shui book and learn from that?
Yes, and it can become very confusing to figure out how to apply the principles to your own home just from a book. Also, there are several different schools of Feng Shui,. So reading alone may simply add to the confusion.
Enrolling in the course will enable you to work specifically with your home, and I will be your guide.
When you sign up for the course by the end of April, I will also include a Feng Shui consultation with me (valued at $325) for no extra cost. So not only will you learn everything you need to know from the course, but I’ll also do a lot of the work for you, by evaluating your home and making recommendations, as well as following up.
One of the reasons I recommend the course is because once you learn these principles, you will know how to apply them to any environment you spend time in. So, if you move to a new home, for example, you’ll know exactly what to look for and what to do.
The online course is something you can do in your own time, and at your own pace. The lessons are short and easy to understand. As I said, I like to keep things as simple and practical as possible.
Working with the energy of your home and workspace will give you the energetic edge you need for greater success and fulfillment!
